Grace and Allison July 8, 2010

I know they're suppose to be dressed up like butterflies, but these two girls were really much more like little angels! Two oldest sister is only two, but so friendly and took great direction that I normally can't give until much older (typically this age is more like chasing them around the forest). Baby sis isn't quite sitting yet so I'm afraid we were a bit limited to photographing her as I wasn't gonna just lay her in a bed of poison ivy for a photo ;) But I still think we got great shots regardless!

Two for the Price of One! July 7, 2010

Well today was a very exciting day, and amazingly stressful to boot. We got to visit the newly renovated ER at the hospital, AND a vet visit. We tallied up two broken bones in the same day. Thankfully with our fabulous insurance the ER was free, so it was like two broken bones for the price of one!

Nataley's injury came at daycamp when a basketball she was playing with decided to 'beat me up' as she put it. It's amazing how those things can bounce back at ya!

We aren't entirely sure what happend to Franklina, but the xray results were very clear - she broke her little toe on her back paw clear out. The vet gave her lots of interesting meds causing her to be all sort of loopy and unable to walk without falling over (cause using three legs instead of four wasn't hard enough, lets ad narcotics to the mix) She is being soooooo spoiled now!

But you didn't think a blue splint was going to last long for Nataley, did you? A trip to wally world provided us with pink duck tape and the glue gun helped with adding the bling (her design) She cannot wait to return to daycamp tomorrow to show everyone!

Family Silhouettes July 6, 2010

It's been non stop clear skies here in Van Wert. The sunset offered a naturally pink and purplish sky last night. I love family silhouettes, but there's something about Daddy and Daughter pics that just makes me go Awwww.

Two Butterflies July 5, 2010

Two sisters came to visit yesterday. I've been trying to schedule butterfly Whimsy Sessions early enough that we aren't completely melted by the heat, but as anyone local knows, it's hot from sun up to sun down! The girls were so great about it though. I'm happy to report that we were done with the session before it hit 90 degrees (barely though)

LSO In The Park July 3, 2010

It's a family tradition to enjoy the Lima Symphony Orchestra every year at the direction of Maestro Crafton Beck in the park beside my studio. Last year it was incredibly special. Front and center with the kids, they engaged in conversation in the middle of the concert, and then surprised us all by asking Chris to come up front and conduct the last song. It was an amazing experience, which promptly brought jealous tears from Josh. When we thanks Maestro Beck afterwards for giving the Chris the opportunity, he couldn't help but see Josh's red, wet eyes and tear stained face. He told us at the time that perhaps next year it could be Joshua's turn.

And let me tell ya... Josh remembered that for 365 days.

When we were preparing for the symphony we printed off some pics of Chris with Maestro Beck to get one autographed, and one to give to him with a thank you card. After Chris spoke a few moments with him before the concert I came up with them too (was sort of afraid Chris was taking too much of his time) and Josh of course followed suit.

And then it happened. Maestro Beck turned to Josh and said, ''I Remember you! I remember how much trouble I was in after the concert last year.'' and while we went to go back to our seats, he asked me where we were sitting. Oh I so hoped for my Josh that he would remember to give Josh a chance. But at the same time we told Josh all week that he shouldn't have his hopes up - we'd never, ever, ever seen him give a kid that chance before last year with Chris, and it may not happen again.

The symphony was fabulous, as always. Nataley was laying down on the blanket beside me watching intently.

I'm fascinated by the beauty of the instruments.

During intermission we walked to the fountain. I guess I forgot to mention to Nataley that was were not fully emersing ourselves.

Yes, silly boys.

So finally, after a beautiful night with a clear blue sky, the evening was coming to a close. To our delight, Maestro Beck came down to where we were at, picked Josh up, and brought him up to conduct the orchestra. Horray!!! We could finally put to rest the year of Chris getting to conduct the orchestra, and Josh didn't.

And I'm sure fearing that he'd have another Hattery child in tears following the concert, he came back to us and asked Nataley to also come up for part of the song. Joshua graciously handed the baton over, and as happy as can be bounded down to our seats.

I did mention that this was a symphony in the park??? Please note miss Nataley is barefoot as she conducts. And as she pranced off that staging area and did three bows for the audience, I'm quite sure she had the chuckles of a couple of hundred people.

Four Fluttering in the Forest July 1, 2010

When you get four little girls together with tutus for a photo session, there's sure to be lots of twirling, giggles, wonder and awe. The girls are all very close - some even related - and you sure could tell how much they adore each other in the pictures. I, of course, took way too many pictures and will be chained to my laptop looking through an entire media card full of pics. Wowsers!

Cutie Kaelin July 1, 2010

Boy this girl gave her momma and I a workout during this photo session! Poor girl wanting nothing to do with me, and just wanted to be with mommy. I get that, I have one of those girls in my house too. Together we managed to get some fantastic pics that captured the cheerful cutie. :)

Darling Dane July 1, 2010

Wow was this little guy adorable!!! In about three minutes I got a full sessions worth of fabulous pictures. This is just about my favorite age to photograph!!! :)
