What's Up February 15, 2011

Did you think I fell off the face of the Earth??? Hiding somewhere on the dark side of the moon? lol, well this moon shot is the only recent pic I have to share so I had to incorporate the space theme somehow.

I know yall must think with my life something amazingly exciting has happened, a great event, a thrilling experience... and truth is, I'm just living my fun, ordinary life :)

On Friday night the kids, grandparents and I were lucky enough to see Gnomeo and Juliet. Now, it was very clean and decent and perfect for the kids - who loved it, but I could hardly stay awake. I enjoyed facebooking and texting while the movie was going. :)

Saturday we played games, including some homemade Minute to Win It, and Nataley set up an animal shelter in her room (with mostly fake animals).

Sunday we went to MRM for some tubing fun after church - with the only breeze being slight and WARM, we kept stripping layers to keep cool. I didn't bring my camera - or cell - so no pics. The last run, the tenth for me and Joshua, we all found each other at the top and were going to go down as a family before leaving. The kids wanted us to spin, which means the guy at the top grabs one tube and kind of pulls that one first, and hangs on just a split second so we start spinning towards the bottom. However he decided to use Nataley, the lightest of us all, as the one to spin, and as we just start off he accidently picks up her tube, flipping it on top of her, as we go hurdling down the mountain. Momma instinct kicked in to gear in no time as I grabbed her coat - she is sliding down the mountain at this point with the tube on top of her, on her stomach, face planted into the snow/ice otherwise - look her in the eyes and say, ''I've got you girl, I'm not letting go, I've got you, I've got you.'' without much knowledge on whether or not it was for her benefit or my own. With the one hand grab on her jacket, still going over and down the hills, I pull her up on top of myself and hold her with all my might.

Now she was ALL smiles when we got to the bottom. Although she admits to being terrified, it was still super cool - plussssss the guys mistake allowed us to break the rules. You absolutely may NOT have two riders on one tube, no matter how young, and here Nataley got to ride down WITH me (at least the portion she wasn't on her stomach).

And then Monday was Valentine's Day and hubby was off work. I was super excited because I had been gifted with a shopping spree as my Vday present (I'm rather desperate for new clothes and shoes). Unfortunately store after store had clearance racks from left over stuff at Christmas time, blech, and I ended up with only two items for myself (four for Nataley, one for the boys, lol) Though I do absolutely ADORE this one item I got, I really had pictured myself walking out with bags upon bags of new goodies (think Julia Roberts ala Pretty Woman) Especially after my husband transferred so much $$$$ from savings to our checking account. I suppose this is where 'the thought that counts' comes in to play, and I really DO appreciate the though.... but next time the stores need to have their merchandise updated :)

Which brings us to my day today. I sat and cut 1700 box tops from the Box Tops for Education program. I'm the schools cordinator for our school and realized one of the deadlines are approaching quickly. If you want a check for this school year, I need to get our last 3000 in for the $. I don't mind doing it, and often have other moms help with a bag full, but doing them for hours upon hours you just kind of go a tad insane.

But the good news is I'm really itching to take pictures again. Friday the boys are taking promo pics for me to use for a summer mini session, and within another day or two snow should be GONE with the warm temps we're getting. I really didn't want another photo layout of snow. So between these two items you can look for new snapshots soon :)

Curves February 8, 2011

Nataley and Joshua are excited about entering a little photo competition on Thursday night. The theme is Curves.

One of Joshua's entries that he took down in Virginia. He would like to point out the curves of the mountains, clouds, river, and bridge too.

Nataley's photo from the summer... Mmmm... CJs. :)

Can you even guess what these are? This is my entry. Instead of giving you the answer quite yet I'll let you wonder about it awhile.

Another photo of mine. I guess I wanted to feel the warmth and the curves of the petals fit the theme.

I'm including one more photo of mine with curves petals... just cause it makes me happy.
