Bella the Butterfly
June 14, 2010
Bella made for a beautiful butterfly today! It was a long awaited session that I thought was going to get rained out. The sky turned dark, but not a sprinkle was felt! AND we got through with the session before it hit 80 degrees out - woo hoo!

Joshua's Favorite Things
June 13, 2010
Josh has also had a few big days recently. At the zoo this weekend he lost a tooth and now has the cutest little second grader grin. :)

But if you can see in his eyes, and his hair, he's been playing hard this summer, and exhaustion was sure to hit eventually. So after getting way too upset over a way I looked at him (a look that can only be described as love and concern) after a poor shot at golf, I told him he ought to lay down a little until dinner time. It wasn't a punishment - I just though laying in a peaceful, cool room, sounded lovely and just what he needed to rejuvinate.

And he couldn't agree more. We found him surrounded by his favorite things. You know, like big fluffy blankets and pillows for throwing, a tiger who lost some stuffing and needed some sewing. Penguins, bears, and dragon's with fangs, those are definately some of Joshua's favorite things.
Nataley's Big Day
June 11, 2010
Nataley woke up yesterday a six years old!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATALEY!
Nataley learned the value of clearance, being able to buy a Polly Pocket Water Park AND Barbie Wii game with her birthday gift card. WTG Nataley! On her birthday visit to Toys-r-US she got to use a special cart for birthday kids, have a balloon, a crown, AND her name on the loud speaker to let the whole store know to wish her a happy birthday. Since Josh was in school on his birthday one week ago, and this was also his visit to spend his birthday card, the lady was kind enough to also show him all the same benefits and excitement. Thanks to a recent growth spurt, Nataley is now caught up in the height department with her older brother, and they very much looked like twins walking around the store, both celebrating their birthday.
Nataley got just what she wanted for dinner. Whole wheat mac & cheese and freshly steamed carrots. Way to be healthy Nataley! (though I also added a meat to the meal)
Nataley entered her first photo competition yesterday. She took this picture in April. I had brought my camera to do some floral shots at the botanical conservatory, but Nat was all about the butterflies. No, she does not understand aperature, ISO or ss yet. She's still auto girl. I just want her to get composition and focus right on for now.

Out of 41 entries, against adults, Nataley tied for first place. After the tiebreaking vote, she came in second, but is still very much over the moon. CONGRATULATIONS NATALEY! I entered three pictures to the bugs/insects competition last night, but didn't do so well. lol. So not only did she compete with adults (and yes, other younger adults too), perhaps more importantly is that she beat her mom!
And Nataley's first words thismorning were, ''I'm so glad I won!'' This will definately a birthday to remember.
We love you Nataley! I'm so excited to have a six year old girl. We've never had a six year old girl at this house before. should be quite the adventure!

Carrie In The Rain
June 9, 2010
They say when it rains it pours, and that's what happened thismorning. I'm SO happy Carrie and her mom came anyway for her session as I am booked for about 6 weeks straight and I really didn't want Carrie to wait that long for her pics. Earlier this week Carrie came with her cousin Alex, though it was more of an Alex session. Today was all about Carrie... and mud, and lots of it! Here's some peeks from today, along with one from Alex and Carrie together. :)
