Boys Turn October 2nd, 2009

It was the boys' turn today to let me play with the new snow backdrop.

I loooooooovvveeeee my newest shot of Joshua. *sigh* What a cutie I have, if I do say so myself. :)

Chris really only wanted to flash peace signs and karate moves for the camera. Can you tell he was less then thrilled to pose for me? lol

Angelic Mini Session October 1st, 2009

I've been planning this special for a long time and so happy to finally introduce you to my latest whimsical mini-session - Snow Angels.

Newborn, anyone? September 29th, 2009

Tomorrow I have two seniors proof books coming in and with that I have a tiny bit of a break before the October seniors start coming in and I've found myself itching for a newborn. No no no, no way not to keep!!! Just to photograph. I thought I'd throw this out there for anyone who's ready to go into labor or knows someone who just had a baby. Anyone? Anyone? :)

And for those of you who don't fit the above, here's one more peek at the gorgeous gal I got to play personal papparazzo to over the weekend.

Senior Stunner September 27th, 2009

Today I had the opportunity to photograph a gal named Nikki, who I'm certain has no idea how stunning she is, which I suppose only makes her more beautiful. She was so easy going and seriously had no bad angle. I can't wait to proof her session, but for tonight, here's just one little peek of the first photo I brought up.

Nataley, Nataley, Nataley... September 25th, 2009

Oh that Nataley girl!!! Last evening Nataley got to head out with me to a floral photo shoot. It had been raining on and off all day, so at one point in the afternoon I suggested she wear her rain boots in case we find puddles to splash in on our walk looking at the flowers. Though the rain subsided, her eagerness to get out in the wetness did not, and her getup by the time we left after dinner included swimming goggles and a floatie.

At least she was preparred for any flash flooding!

Curtis Pics September 24th, 2009

I'm not sure why it is, but I always do a ton more senior girls then boys. Perhaps the studio full of boas and zebra print dressing room has something to do with it. Whatever the reason, it's always such a treat for me to get pics of the more masculine nature.

I find one of my biggest pet peeves is when photographers post highly edited photos on their blog. It makes me wonder if they can take a decent shot on their own, if all they post are discolored, vintage, or photos with scripts run in post processing. So what do I do? Play around and end up posting a way edited pic, lol. I can't help it, I absolutely fell in love with this guitar pic and thought it was just too cool. Yeah, I'm just an old lady and my opinion is moot, but hopefully Curtis thinks its ''too cool'' too.

Winter Preview September 22th, 2009

Well I hope yall are planning on coming to visit me this winter for fabulous portraits cause I just bought a stunner of a background that I cannot wait to use!!!

Though I think just about any winter outfit would look beautiful with this drop, I will be making snow angel costumes for little girls and can picture some little boys in an old victorian style suit. :)

Nataley's Weekend September 20th, 2009

The boys went to Grammas for the weekend and Nataley LOVED it!!! She got tons of attention and went back over and over to her favorite spots in Van Wert - Heistand Woods and the Resevoirs.

After I saw Nataley in the rocks here at the resevoir I thought - wow, I'm gonna have to bring a senior here sometime!

Nat Wins September 19th, 2009

The image of Nataley daydreaming out the window racked up a few more awards over the weekend!

In the category of Portraits, it took 2nd Place. Yes, how it could take 2nd out of dozens when it took 1st out of hundreds earlier this year is beyond me except to say, every judge is different, and there was a color portrait that they liked more. It's ok, it's allowed. However it also got a Wilber Hartman Award in black/white... so it's up to four awards total for this shot. :) Thanks, of course, goes out to Miss Nataley for letting me dress her up and take the shot.

Wedding Planning September 17th, 2009

Naw, I'm not planning any weddings!!! But I have been surprised about how many inquiries I've had for weddings up to 16 months from now. It makes me feel loved :) Then today I got an inquiry on if I give discounts to WedPlan clients and when I went to the website I saw...

ME! Ok, not exactly. But that's my silhouette featured on the front page.

Right now I still only accept, at the most, one wedding a month. I don't want weddings to get mundane or boring. It's far too exciting and special for the couple, and as long as I keep the excitement and awe I know I can deliver beautiful photographs with lots of emotions tied to them.

But I always get a bit sappy talking about weddings... :)
